Resumen

[Amyand's hernia: A case report]

Abstract
Amyand's hernia is a rare presentation of acute appendicitis, where the appendix is inflamed and is part of the content of an inguinal hernia. It occurs in approximately 0.13% of cases of acute appendicitis. In general, the diagnosis is made intraoperatively, since the incarceration of the hernial content motivates to carry out urgent surgical exploration; Within the intervention and after finding the cecal appendix in an inflammatory state, different management techniques can be performed, which have been described by Lossanoff and Basson.
We present the clinical case of a male patient, who manifests pain of a day of evolution, associated with nausea and imprisonment of the contents of his inguinal hernia. Before his torpid evolution and persistence of the pain he is operated on. The vermiform appendix in the edematous phase is documented as hernial content; performing appendectomy and right inguinal herniorrhaphy with prosthesis in it.
